‘Duck Dynasty’ Matriarch Kay Robertson Hospitalized Following Serious Fall
The Robertson family has shared another health update—this time concerning Kay Robertson, the beloved matriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan. Kay recently suffered a “severe” fall that resulted in surgery and ongoing mobility challenges.
As detailed in the latest episode of the Duck Call Room podcast, Willie, Jase, and Uncle Si opened up about the recent string of health issues affecting their family. In addition to discussing Phil Robertson’s ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s and spinal injuries, the brothers revealed new details about Kay’s frightening accident.
“Kay had another fall, which—she falls a lot,” Jase admitted candidly. “And it was a substantial injury.”
He didn’t sugarcoat the severity. “The people who are with them around the clock sent me a very graphic photo when she cut her leg. It was a horror show—it was severe,” he continued. “I was about to go on stage, saw that picture, and said, ‘Get her to the hospital—I’ve got to speak.’”
According to Jase, Kay underwent a “pretty rough” surgery to address the injuries from the fall. She is currently using a walker to get around but continues to deal with limited mobility, in part due to a previously broken foot that has complicated her recovery.
This is just the latest in a string of health battles the Robertsons have faced in recent months. Last December, Jase revealed that Phil was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and also suffering from a blood disorder and multiple fractured vertebrae.
Despite the difficult news, there is a bright spot for fans: Duck Dynasty is back. Willie Robertson confirmed the revival in a December interview with Fox News, referring to the reboot as “the next generation” of the show. A&E officially announced the project in January, revealing that two full seasons have been ordered, totaling 20 one-hour episodes.
Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming at A&E and Lifetime, expressed excitement about the return of the Robertson family to television:
“The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of downhome practicality, Southern charm, and relatable humor. Duck Dynasty played a huge part in A&E’s success for many years, and we look forward to reuniting with the Robertsons on the revival.”
While the family is navigating some challenging health issues, their resilience—and signature humor—remains as strong as ever.
